FIKA (fee-ka) is the Swedish tradition involving coffee or tea, baked treats and good company. One can fika at a cafe or home, where freshly baked pastries are served with pleasure.
According to some, the word fika comes from a time when coffee was illegal and so the syllables were reversed to refer to coffee in code.
