Description

Statistically Bomber Command was the most dangerous arm of military service in WW2. Over 44% of the bomber crew died in service. This was in sharp contrast to the relative normality of life between bombing missions, when the crew could enjoy a drink in a country pub, play cricket with their mates, and romance the local girls and WAAFs before heading out for the next mission. The most dangerous of the positions was also the loneliest. The tail gunner, often known as the “Tail-End Charlie”.

Tail-End Charlie is a historical solo journaling game for World War II buffs, hyperfixated aircraft fans, tail gunner LARPers (unsure if you’re real), and anyone whose favorite museums have the word “aerospace” in their titles (YOU are absolutely real).

Complete missions in an Avro Lancaster, deciding on its call sign, its nickname, and the six other crewmembers with whom you’ll fly. A deck of playing cards drives the action as well as your downtime. Black cards – clubs and spades – indicate mission successes and failures. Red cards – diamonds and hearts – are your rest, relaxation, and social time, where you’ll unwind with your crew or explore the town to romance the locals.

How will your tail gunner adventure unfold? Will you collect victories and awards and contribute to the war in big ways? Or accumulate stress and airplane damage and be forced to bail out – out of your turret or even out of the war completely?

  • 36-page, color softcover book – 6″ x 9″
  • Requires a deck of playing cards and a way to record your adventures
