THE GREAT LIBRARY
Infinite, ever-shifting, and sometimes dangerous, the Library exists in the space between worlds and times. Among the many who call it home are the Librarians, and only those who truly understand it may join their ranks. You seek to do so.
The path of a Librarian’s apprentice is a long one. Your current task is designed to test your skills at traversing the Library and finding information. Retrieve the six documents requested by your Librarian before the day is out and you will have completed one more step on your journey.

Part surreal fantasy world-building, part solo puzzle challenge, The Librarian’s Apprentice is a solo game partly inspired by the Jorge Luis Borges short story “The Library of Babel.” Create your Apprentice on the provided bookmark – give them skills, a background, and a familiar – then explore an endless, magical, inter-dimensional library to complete the tasks your Librarian has assigned to you.
The Librarian’s Apprentice is contained in three Volumes (full-color pamphlets that look like vintage book spines). Volume One contains the story, the rules, your available moves, and the assignment. Volume Two contains d6 tables for events, documents to discover, complications, and creatures. Volume Three contains d6 tables to create patrons and others associated with the Library. Give them jobs, quirks, goals, and more.
Gameplay can take as little as 30 – 90 minutes, but, of course, the library exists outside of common space time, and you are free to stay, meander, research, and learn as long as you like.
