Tales from the Gods is a solo journaling RPG built around the framework of storytelling staple Thousand Year Old Vampire. Follow the life of a deity from their inception to their eventual oblivion. Like TYOV, prompts guide your tale as they modify your traits. Nurture civilizations and interact with other deities. Meet mortal Characters – mighty warriors and illuminated thinkers – and bestow upon them your favors. Magic, miracles, transformation. Use your Skills and watch them change over time. Interact with the world to create meaningful Symbols and powerful Relics. Collect your works – your Myths – into Sagas, the record of your existence and the bedrock of your divine self.
How might this look in practice? Protect your followers from monsters by creating a Relic, a society of hunters, and their organization’s Symbol – continue to bless this lineage, keeping a Character (one of their descendants) under your protection for all time. Or turn your eye, instead, to the monsters. Your progeny are your Relic and their reverence creates iconography that becomes a Symbol. Their strength, devotion, and service to you create an entirely new Skill, one you can continue to use in the future.
Game arrives hardbound, printed in vibrant full color. It requires only a set of polyhedral dice and a way to record your story. It includes complete rules, over 120 evocative prompts, appendices, imagery from across the world, and spaces to journal (should you choose to use the book itself). Game also includes multiplayer rules for a pantheon of gods, solo games played simultaneously.
