Prey is an animal-themed trick-taking card game with a twist. Each card’s art depicts both a predator and their prey – a bear and a salmon, a snake and a frog, a hawk and a mouse. The first six tricks belong to the predators, but the second six belong to the prey. Which cards will you use and which will you save? First player to match their bid twice wins.
Game plays in about twenty minutes and boasts colorful block print-style animals by Sai Beppu as well as a pair of dice and a color-matched score card for each player. Finally, just in case it needs to be said, this card game is completely unrelated to the 2022 Predator-universe movie of the same name. Knave of Cups does recommend a watch, though. It’s a good one.
