Description
OMEN is a TTRPG all about defying fate. Designed as a one shot, you and your friends will come together, create a doomed world, and do what you can to save it.
Defy or doom, either way it’s a good time.
Omen is an ensemble-cast end of the world story, a multi-player one-shot RPG with a flexible setting but a fixed timeline. That’s right – set it in the world of your choice but the game will end after a certain number of events. Will your world be modern? Magic-heavy fantasy? Far-future science fiction? It’s up to you, but the end is nigh.
Characters are called Fated, who roll a pool of d6 dice before gameplay begins. The GM guides the Fated through the framework of the story: their world is ending – what are they gonna do about it? When a Fated decides to try something risky, they choose a die from their pool to indicate the result. Fated can use Omens, little cheats from the universe, to manipulate their dice but generally, once spent, a die cannot be re-used. Thus, the game proceeds. Dice are spent, choices narrow. In Omen, sometimes you’ve gotta choose to fail now to succeed later.
Meanwhile, two event-dependent clocks have been ticking down: Doom and Defy. When one fills completely, the game is over. The world has experienced its end or has, miraculously, remained. Either way, you’ve certainly made the most of your time.
