O Patron Mine is a solo storytelling game about a chance encounter with the arcane. Grab a tarot deck and prepare to meet your Patron. Three draws from the Major Arcana – the first 22 cards of a standard Rider Waite deck – determine who you meet, where you meet them, and what they require from you in exchange for the use of their power. Will you meet a cheerful, chaotic being in the guise of a child? A nebulous entity with a perpetually shifting countenance? Or perhaps someone you thought you knew – a regular person from your everyday life – reveals themselves to be anything but?
Play O Patron Mine as a classic solo journaling game or use it as a generator, creating characters for campaigns in other systems. For maximum inspiration in a storytelling game, use a detailed, symbolic tarot deck with lots of rich imagery. For character generation, try a minimalist deck or classic Rider Waite deck using the included GM-led directions and/or Single Card directions.
