Description
You were a Void Sorcerer under the Solar King.
After your tryst with the Prince was discovered, you were banished and the Prince was executed.
In desperation, you’ve returned to perform an unsanctioned resurrection on the Prince.
Forbidden love, meet scary wizards. Necromancer Heretic is a solo journaling game that places you in the unenviable position of attempting to resurrect your murdered lover. It’s you and your magic versus three of your very angry king’s very elite guards, closing in on your position with orders to stop your ritual and put you out of your misery.
Using a standard deck of playing cards and modified Blackjack rules, you (and each of the guards) will build “hands” of actions, attempting to do as much as possible before you hit 21. Will you, bolstered by the fires of passion, heartbreak, and spite, resurrect your one true love? Or will you simply meet them again in the afterlife, when the king’s guards find you and summarily dispatch you?
- Requires a standard deck of playing cards and a way to record the tale you tell
- The game casts your lover as The Prince, but, y’know, that’s anyone of any gender who was a royal, and you fell in love, and The King murdered them
- 28 pages, 5.5″ x 8.5″ full-color zine (black & pink)
