Description

Take on the role of a Royal Messenger, tasked with delivering a supply of honey from your sovereign to the ruler of a friendly queendom. Along the way, explore this unknown-to-you territory, gathering information and new nectars and pollens for your home. But beware: not every queendom is as easy to navigate as your home realm, and may harbor dangers beyond your imagination…

Honey Hex is a solo exploration game (with optional 2 player rules) from designer Edaureen Muhamad Nor, based on the Carta system. It is a storytelling/board game hybrid, meaning there is both a mechanical strategy element, and a interpretive narrative element. Players are cast as anthropomorphic bees, carrying different types of honey to grant them performance boons like potions. Players navigate a map of playing cards, each card tied to a story prompt, and attempt to reach the foreign queen on the other side of the map.
