The Fukuzatsu Tarot is a Rider-Waite deck in Neon Rot’s technicolor turn-of-the-(21st)-century style. Are you, like us, a fan of aggressively eye-melting vaporwave vibes? Need a companion deck perfectly-matched to your Fukuzatsu game? We’ve got ya! This deck is pure 90s nostalgia. It says it’s “surfing the web” from its “computer room.” It hangs out at the mall arcade. It’s UV-reactive and tastes like sour strawberry.*
Our copies of this deck come in two conditions: “Rough” and “Very Rough.”
Something mysterious (and frankly violent) happened to the shipment these deck were in. It arrived to us in truly abysmal conditions, and while we don’t really know why that happened, after thinking about it a lot, our best guess is that some customs agent somewhere along the chain of international shipping decided that these tarot decks looked suspiciously like drugs and unceremoniously ripped them all open.
The whimsical part of me want to say that this adds to the mystique of these decks: they’re so punk the pigs can’t stand them. The practical part of me knows that the jet fuel used to ship these decks overseas can’t be unspent, so it would be silly to not try to sell them. The conscientious part of me wants any potential customer to know exactly what they’re buying. And the melancholy part of me can’t help but ruminate on the arbitrary, faceless, and un-reversable nature of state violence.
Anyway, it’s a cool deck, so if you can accept some damage as part of the experience, feel free to pick them up at a discount. Please look at the photos for examples.
