Description
It’s been ten years since the bomb. Ten years since everything you once knew just…ceased. Your family. Your job. Your day-to-day habits. You’ve managed to pull together an existence from the shreds of humanity that survived. You wouldn’t call it living.
But it’s time for change.
Detritus is a solo post-apocalyptic storytelling game about a survivor, itching to know what remains of the world. Part journaling RPG and part gamebook, write in the zine itself as you progress through the story. Central beats are pre-determined (like a gamebook) but each development requires an examination of feelings or a decision (like a journaling RPG). Go on a journey with a curious explorer. Tell their story while you reflect on your own experiences and learn a little about yourself along the way.
Game plays in 60 – 90 minutes. It utilizes a unique discovery-randomizer system to determine the character’s ongoing physical (and emotional) detritus. Each page spread includes an event to read, a section for a reaction, a place to record items found, and a place to suss out the thoughts you’re having (both as the character and as the player).
