Description
Most normal people in this world just get, you know, a normal job. But you’re not “normal people”: you’ve got the talent, charm, skills, equipment, or augmentations to make the kinds of jobs that get posted to illicit bulletin boards by anonymous clients posting payments via escrow online happen. Maybe one day you’ll take a job that puts a black eye on the people who are making your life miserable. One day.
For now though? Go make that bread.
Corpslayers is a multiplayer ‘cyberpunk-ish’ homage to Gila RPGs’ fantasy monster-hunting game, Slayers. Instead of dangerous creatures, your quarry is quasi-legal future-work (and the payment that comes with it). It’s the gig economy with a heist twist! You’re a Detective, a Heavy, or an Operator. Perhaps you’re a Personality – or a Wizard. Under the direction of The Man (your GM), you and your sleazy, weird, augmented, otherwise classically unemployable crew will take the jobs no one else can (or wants to) do.
Game includes ‘gig’ takes on Slayers concepts Threats (known problems) and Twists (surprises on the job). Like Slayers, character classes use asymmetrical combat mechanics, giving every player a unique experience. Game requires (at least) one set of polyhedral dice per person for play (the more dice the better – think two or more of each). In the creator’s words, “a whole shitload is ideal.”
- For 2-7(ish) players, GM-required
- 5.5″x8.5″ zine, 20 pages, homemade
