Better Strangers is a people-watching game inspired by your daily commute!
Better Strangers is a solo+ card-based world building game. Grab a deck and look around you. Riding the bus? Waiting at the airport? Stuck in line? If you can see people – even just billboards, photos, or art – you can play!
Game includes 80 prompts, two per card. One prompt (in bold) applies to newly-recognized Strangers. The other (in italics) adds information to a Stranger you’ve already met. Someone is in love. Someone is living a double life. Someone is visiting here for the last time. Jot down the folks you encounter. How are they related? Soon, you’ll have your own little world.
Better Strangers is portable and flexible! Play alone or take turns with friends. Play for storytelling or to create NPCs for larger campaigns. Play a quick game or draw it out as long as you want to. Or need to (y’know, however long your flight’s delayed). Just remember: play from a respectful distance. Do the heavy imagining with your brain and not your eyes!
