Go head-to-head as rival art curators with AQUA, a two-player set-collection, strategic-placement card game. Each of you is slated to open Aqua, an installation of artist Ta-Te Wu’s impressionist, water-themed work. The twist? Well, two twists. First being that Ta-Te Wu is also the creator of this game. Second, that one player will be focused on presenting horizontal rows while the other will be focused on vertical columns.
Take turns placing cards, revealing paintings, and creating optimal groups. Lily pads give bonuses. Sea turtles score better beside waves. Boats encourage your visitors to travel farther into the exhibit (that’s a bonus, too). The Pocket Edition is the tiny, portable version of AQUA. Instead of a box with a game board and meeples, the Pocket Edition uses only cards (paintings) and tokens. Plus, game creator Ta-Te Wu is, truly, also the creator of the game’s impressionist art.
