Description

Your home planet was destroyed.

You are aboard the last starship with the survivors of your people, and you must find a perfect rock: a new planet to call home.

A Perfect Rock is a solo+ world building, space exploration RPG in which IRL rocks become in-game planets. Wait, real rocks? Like, that piece of tumbled amethyst in the junk drawer? Or your agate bookends? Or that absurdly spherical pebble your kid brought home from the playground? Yes! Go grab those. Or simply snag your Victoriana-inspired, carefully-organized, labeled wooden grid of tiny stones off the wall, where it hangs every day as a prominent piece of quirky decor. Yeah, we see you. At last, sweet vindication, huh?

Play solo or with up to 3 friends for a co-op, GMless adventure. Explore the far reaches of the universe in search of a new place to call home! Dice rolls and prompts tell the story of your people’s history, your ship, and your daily life in space. Travel between star systems and discover the planets there, using rocks from your collection to shape planetary characteristics while you attempt to determine if you’ve found your next home (or if you should keep moving). Lost civilizations! Magic! Space leviathans! It’s all here waiting for you.

Don’t have a rock collection? You’ve got options! Use the game’s companion accessory, The Rock Oracle Deck, which contains 50 full-color illustrated rocks plus meanings and other inspiration. You could also go for a quick walk and pick up some rocks (respectfully). Or, of course, you can keep it simple (and inexpensive) and roll a d20 to reference the rocks in the book!

  • A solo+ world building game for 1-4 players, requires a rock collection (or The Rock Oracle Deck)
  • 64 pages, 5.5″x8.5″ full color softcover book
  • NO AI – ALL ILLUSTRATIONS ARE 100% HUMAN-MADE, HAND-DRAWN DIGITAL ART
