Our Values

Knave of Cups wants to build a community that’s compassionate and curious, eager to understand ourselves – and one another – better.

We’re still learning how we can fully accomplish that, but for now we have 3 big red lines that we will not cross. These help us determine how we should behave as a company and who we should work with.

No Bigotry

Acknowledging the ways in which our experiences differ is just as important as celebrating the ways in which we are the same. We will not tolerate bigotry in any form. This includes but is definitely not limited to: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia.

If you exclude or devalue others based on aspects of their identity, you’re not welcome here.

Similarly, if you don’t believe that racism, misogyny, transphobia, imperialism, white supremacy, etc, are real problems that need to be addressed in our community, you’re also not welcome here.

No Abuse

We get it – being human is hard: our interactions are complex, and we may not have always brought our best selves to our relationships, romantic or otherwise. We’re growing all the time and we hope you are too. For us, part of that growth entails understanding what constitutes abuse, the differences between holding someone accountable and bullying, and the ways in which inaction can be just as harmful as action.

If you abuse or manipulate others through action or inaction, you’re not welcome here.

No Crypto

Knave of Cups firmly believes that art should be affordable and accessible because both creating and experiencing art allows us to connect with ourselves and, more importantly, others. We believe NFTs and Cryptocurrency at large are the absolute antithesis of this, from their creation and environmental impact, to their distribution to their broader effect on artists and the value we all place on art. We will never use our creative content this way.

If you are a promoter of crypto or web3 technologies, you’re not welcome here.
